On March 11, the USAID Tax Reform Project (TRP) and the USAID Civic Engagement in Local Governance (CELoG) Program organized a conference on “Local Taxes: Current Issues and Policy Perspectives”, which took place at Armenia Marriott hotel. The event aimed to bring together representatives of central and local governments, civil society, the private sector, academia, and international organizations to discuss issues related to local taxation, including improvement of tax policy and tax administration in the frame of a Unified Tax Code, and local governance system strengthening. Over 100 invitees took part in the conference. CELoG Chief of Party David Tumanyan, CFOA Chairman Vahan Movsisyan, CFOA Senior Expert Vahram Shahbazyan, representatives from RA Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations, Yerevan City Council and others also made presentations at the event.
